How to count elements in Okta

This article provides a detailed walkthrough for determining the number of records associated with specific types in Okta

To calculate the usage-based pricing for Salto, Salto needs to count the number of configuration elements in your Okta instance.

The easiest and most accurate way is to sign up for Salto and let Salto do the calculation. This is the recommended option. Learn how

If you want to calculate the number of records before signing up to Salto, ask someone from your Okta team to log in to your Okta Admin Console and follow these instructions:

Count Discrepancies

It's important to note that Salto excludes some elements by default, so the number of records calculated by Salto may be lower than your count.

Application

  1. Navigate to 'Applications' by going through the left pane: Applications> Applications.

  2. Count the number of Applications under the Active and Inactive tabs

Group and Group Rule

  1. Navigate to 'Groups' by going through the left pane: Directory > Groups.

  2. Under the All tab, count the number of groups.

  3. Under the Rules tab, count the number of rules.

Brand

  1. Navigate to 'Brands' by going through the left pane: Customizations > Brands.

  2. Count the number of Brands.

Policy

Authenticator Enrollment Policy

  1. Navigate to 'Authenticators' by going through the left pane: Security > Authenticators.

  2. Under the tab Enrollment, count the number of policies.

Password Policy

  1. Navigate to 'Authenticators' by going through the left pane: Security > Authenticators.

  2. Open the Actions menu of the Password Authenticator, and select Edit

  3. Count the number of policies.

Authentication Policy

  1. Navigate to 'Authentication Policies' by going through the left pane: Security > Authentication Policies.

  2. Count the number of policies.

Global Session Policy

  1. Navigate to 'Global Session Policy' by going through the left pane: Security > Global Session Policy.

  2. Count the number of policies.

Profile Enrollment policy

  1. Navigate to 'Profile Enrollment' by going through the left pane: Security > Profile Enrollment.

  2. Count the number of policies.

Device Assurance Policy

  1. Navigate to 'Device Assurance Policies' by going through the left pane: Security > Device Assurance Policies.

  2. Count the number of policies.

Authorization Server Policy

  1. Navigate to 'API' by going through the left pane: Security > API.

  2. For every Authorization Server, open it by clicking on its name, and under the Access Policies tab, count the number of policies.
